Contra is the worst by far. Don't waste your time with them. I've run into a lot of issues. Fiverr would be the best option in my opinion and I have a good experience with the platform
@EliteGentlemanHub
Okay here's my issue with Upwork and I guess I am confused. I'm what you might call a jack of many trades mid-level full stack developer, high level multi-channel digital marketer and easily top 3% in SEO (especially technical, I direct technical SEO for one of the biggest agencies serving Fortune 100s) yet when I get on Upwork for any side business this is what I see:
– An enormous amount of other people applying.
– Pay to apply.
– Upwork takes entirely too much money.
– They expect a giant cover letter essentially for any application.
– Nobody reaches back out.
– The gig is usually something like "I want you to build a full Magento website complete with setting up payment processing, completely SEO the site with 1000 high quality backlinks" and they price it at like $100.00 or something ridiculous like that.
What the heck am I doing wrong if it's such a great site? I need to figure that out.
Otherwise, great video but it sounds like the barrier to entry for most of your recommendations is elite only.
@VRListXYZ
With VR continuing to grow, there are people looking to monetize their skills there as well. VR will be a great additional income stream for many people, there are already people in the space that have been making money for some years now. Either as a builder, scripter, VR DJ, VR Artist, etc. Or just extending their real life skill or business into VR as well.

hello @FreelanceMVP. I started working through UpWork and got some jobs, mostly entry-level jobs. and most of the time when I get a job, they want us to talk via telegram and make payments that way. literally speaking, we work illegally. is it worth working like that?

@sunilshah300
Just a warning for whoever is trying for Turing. According to their screening interview process which happens after 3 to 4 coding assessment test and skill proficient test, they look at your resume and want you to have 3+ years of professional work experience in the sector. So if you are just a starting your freelance journey, they won't accept you and if you have any previous freelance work experience, apparently, they don't count it as work experience.
